Antoun Ananias is Palestinian. Jerusalem has been the home of his family for more than a millennium. They have this knowledge because of the Greek Orthodox Church's records. Antoun Ananias completed his MPhil and DPhil at the University of London's Advanced Studies Warburg Institute. He then went on to work as a geneticist before becoming a celebrated book author (using a pen name). After his neighborhood was destroyed by Israeli bombs in December 2023 and Antoun fell sick, he granted us an interview. He managed to escape the Gaza ghetto, but not before being the victim of a pretty vicious attack that required hospitalization due to his injuries. He had already experienced a shocking and disturbing event as a youth when he witnessed the aftermath of the Sabra and Shatila massacres in Lebanon.
